Calculate the Benefit in Kind you will pay

When a company car is made available for the private use of an employee, a taxable 'benefit in kind' (BIK) value is calculated in relation to the car.

You can get an estimate of your tax for the next few years by speaking to our team or taking a look at the information provided by the HMRC Car Tax Calculator.

Vehicles with low or zero emissions

Electric and hybrid vehicles can have slightly different Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) tax rates and tax benefits. For example, fully electric vehicles are exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty – otherwise known as road tax.

Current company car BIK rates start at:

  • 2 percent for pure-electric models
  • 2 percent for hybrid models that can travel on electric power alone
  • 15 percent for non-hybrid models
  • 25 percent for any car with 100g/km CO2 or more
